Known limitations of OpenPhone API

Limited visibility of contacts created via API

If you've created contacts in OpenPhone via Relay.app, you may have noticed that the contacts were created successfully, but you're not able to see them in your contacts list. This is due to a limitation of the OpenPhone API where contacts may be created via their API, but are not visible until there is an associated conversation.

After creating an integration contact, it will only appear in the OpenPhone app—whether in the conversation list, contact list, or search results—if there’s an associated conversation with a matching phone number.
